Ellen Rubinstein, M.S., LEED AP


Ellen has been active in energy efficiency, demand response, and strategic planning for more than 30 years. She received an M.S. in energy management for development from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.S. in computer science from Haverford College. She is also a certified Sustainable Homes Professional and a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Accredited Professional.

Her wide-ranging expertise includes process and impact evaluation of efficiency and demand response programs, regulatory policy analysis, and electric pricing support. Drawing on her strong writing and analytical skills, Ellen has conducted best practices research, market characterizations, market effects estimation, technical potential studies, cost-effectiveness analysis, and technology assessments.

She has also developed program design and implementation strategies, and enjoys making technical information comprehensible to non-technical audiences. She loves to garden – lemon cucumbers are a favorite – create delicious meals with her family, hike, bike, and indulge in her favorite hobby: transforming antique industrial thread spools into eye-catching lamps.
