Linda Dethman, Ph.C., M.A.
Linda has worked for more than 37 years with energy and water efficiency programs, helping her clients better understand, reach, and serve their customers. She holds an M.A., and has completed coursework and exams for her Ph.D. in Communications, from the University of Washington. She also holds a B.A. in Playwriting (Honors) from the University of Missouri.
Linda’s experience spans residential, multi-family, and business programs. She is an expert in evaluation design, market assessments, and consumer research, making use of both standard and innovative approaches. Clients routinely call upon Linda to help them tackle hard puzzles such as how to serve hard-to-reach markets (e.g., low-income, multi-family), change householder and business behaviors (e.g., building occupants and facilities managers), foster new technologies (e.g. net-zero buildings, high-efficiency lighting, h-axis washers), and achieve market transformation (e.g., adoption of codes and standards, sustainable business practices, and water saving landscape ethics). Linda is also an award-winning writer, a trained facilitator, and an invited speaker at national and international conferences. In her spare time, Linda wraps gifts like nobody’s business, knows how to write a short note, and gardens organically. She’s also a big fan of rock concerts, opera, dramatic and musical theater (her favorite musical is The King and I), and 60-mile perambulations through foreign climes.
