Mersiha McClaren, Ph.D.
Mersiha conducts and manages market characterization research and program analyses. She received her Ph.D. in Urban Studies in the College of Urban Affairs at Portland State University, and holds a B.A. in biological sciences (molecular, cellular, and developmental biology) from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Mersiha specializes in statistical analyses, including regression, cluster, and segmentation analyses, and advanced statistical techniques, such as discrete choice modeling, structural equation modeling, and hierarchical linear modeling. She also studies U.S. households’ energy efficiency choice behaviors in an effort to advance knowledge of decision-making models regarding the adoption of residential energy efficiency measures.
Prior to her work at Research Into Action, Mersiha was a biologist with Biomarin Pharmaceutical Inc., where she developed cell fermentation systems for the production of specific proteins and enzymes needed by people deficient in these compounds.
She is passionate about helping consumers find ways to save energy and enjoys interacting with clients across the country. In her free time, she’s an avid hiker, camper, biker, and home brewer. Trust us, she makes really good beer!
