Project: Evaluation of Energy Efficient Building Practices Initiative

Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance

Research Into Action participated in a multiyear (1999-2001) project for the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance to evaluate the effectiveness of media campaigns to reach consumers and trade allies involved in the new commercial construction industry. The project focused on determining the factors (such as lighting, temperature, general comfort, and environmental goals) that employees, decision-makers, influential staff, designers, and developers use to determine employee productivity and employees' satisfaction with their workspace. They also identified the information resources (including the Internet, publications, and design professionals) they rely on to learn more about the relationship between workspace design and employee comfort, satisfaction, and productivity .
