Metropolitan Service District
In 2002, Research Into Action provided consulting support to Metro, a regional government that provides solid waste and recycling, land-use planning, facilities development and management services, and other services in the Portland, Oregon, metropolitan area. For this project, we provided assistance with a new program to implement social behavioral approaches to toxic waste reduction. We revised a survey for use at toxic waste pick-up sites, created a plan for conducting focus groups, developed a script for use in conducting the focus groups, moderated the focus groups, and prepared a report analyzing the focus group discussions.
