In 2011, a Cadmus Group/Research Into Action team launched a three-year process evaluation of the California Better Buildings residential energy efficiency building retrofit program. The program was funded by a grant from the U.S. Department of Energy's Better Buildings Program. The process evaluation seeks to determine the program's success in achieving self-sustaining market momentum, document economies of scale, and identify innovations that can be replicated across the United States. Our team will evaluate 12 of 22 planned pilot programs that were to be delivered across seven approaches. Research Into Action is leading the evaluations of three pilot approaches: Whole Neighborhood, Community-Based Social Marketing, and HVAC Contractor Outreach.
