Project: Baseline Research and First Market Progress Reports, Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance's BetterBricks Commercial Sector Initiative
Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance
From 2003 to 2005, Research Into Action conducted baseline research for the first Market Progress Reports for the Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance's (NEEA) Commercial Sector Initiative, which now is called BetterBricks. BetterBricks is a multifaceted effort to change design and construction practices in commercial buildings throughout the Pacific Northwest. BetterBricks targets schools, grocery stores, and hospitals, as well as service providers to those segments: architects, engineers, lighting designers, refrigeration contractors, mechanical contractors, and controls contractors. For our evaluation of the two-year planning and impementation phase of the Smart Market Program and High Performance Hospitals Program, we surveyed grocery store managers, corporate and hospital facilities leads, design and construction leads, and refrigeration contractors, and interviewed NEEA staff and contractors.
