Marjorie McRae

Dr. McRae, Principal, has 28 years of experience in the assessment and support of energy efficiency programs, including designing and implementing process, impact, and market research studies for programs in all sectors. Her work addresses efficiency, information (social marketing), load management, renewables, market transformation, and new technologies.

Dr. McRae has directed evaluations and market research in support of photovoltaic programs and program development for the City of Berkeley, New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) and Long Island Power Authority; education and training programs for the California investor-owned utilities (statewide programs), Southern California Edison, Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships, Northwest Energy Efficiency Alliance (NEEA), and Wisconsin Electric; medical sector programs for NEEA and Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E); commercial, industrial and agricultural incentive and audit and market transformation programs for NorthWestern Energy, MidAmerican Energy, Energy Trust of Oregon, Efficiency Vermont, and NEEA; research into the residential and nonresidential technical efficiency potential in New Hampshire; and new technology adoption and interest in green service options for Energy Trust of Oregon, NEEA, PG&E, E Source, and multi-client studies.

Her skills include designing surveys; interviewing customers, trade allies, utility staff, and program stakeholders; moderating focus groups; conducting statistical and qualitative analyses; synthesizing findings from the professional literature; writing useful reports; and presenting study findings in an interactive forum.

Dr. McRae holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from Wright Institute, an M.A. in Economics from the University of California Berkeley, and a B.A. in Economics from Goucher College.
